Yep I have the 6 gun wire rack from Cabelas. Holds my Ruger SA and 1911"s .It works as advertised, the guns are held upside down. It has a soft rubber coating that does not mar the finish. Downside a bit pricey :roll:

Joe how come you don't like the Clyde replacement? Except for the color difference I think it does the job well :D . I think its made from aluminum. I had a Marlin re blued with the replacement part installed and it and the steel came out the same color.

The Garret ammo will not cycle in a lever action it's too long. As said above the twist rate for bullets heavier than 270 grains or so will not stabilize due to the twist rate being to slow.

I cut down a 1895 cowboy making the gun very light. It has the straight grip, and with CP 460 gr boolits it will hurt your hand in the lever. I will be sending the lever to Reeder custom guns to have it modified. He does the in between look, not the big loop.

Dave Clements is offering a new caliber conversion for the Marlin 1895 that requires only a barrel change. Its a .348 calibre necked down 45/70 shortened to 2.0. The dies will be offered by Dave. Also the round will not be required fire formed.

loading for the 405 Win

I have a Ruger#1 in 405 Win that I would like some help with. I have 325gr Hard cast gas checked bullets that I would like to load with Benchmark powder. Anybody have a starting load for this combo?
