Good notes on the 'possum, but there are other mammals with more teeth---toothed whales or porpoises are examples. Also, possums have only 50 teeth distributed as follows: i5/4, c1/1, pm3/3, m4/4 (X2 for both right and left sides) = 50.

Actually, those are thirteen-lined (I didn't count the stripes myself) ground squirrels. They are NOT chipmunks-which have stripes on the sides of the face.

Both ground squirrels and chipmunks are members of the squirrel family- Order-Rodentia; Family Sciuridae.

Hope that clears it up. :D

I watched part of a "Jesse James" movie a couple of weeks ago-Jesse was played by Tyrone Power (IIRC) and Frank James was played by Henry Fonda. The little boy (Jesse's son) was played by John Russell--he looked to be about 4 or 5 yrs old. His career spanned quite a few years I'd say. :)

If I recall correctly, he and Edward Drinker Cope, another paleontologist of the day, literally fought over dinosaur fossils. One or the other was accused (apparently rightly so) of stealing a railroad car loaded with fossils as it sat along a siding in the fossil country.
