I suspect that the fast powders are not position sensitive and the slow ones are. Slower powders work best when they either fill the case or are held against the primer. My guess is that you are correct .. but it's just my guess. However, 50 years of reloading most everything from .25 ACP to .475 L...

I for one am glad he has that as his location. A few years back when I saw it, out of curiosity I googled it, and was rewarded with some interesting historical accounts. I've often wondered what Jims connection was, but never asked. My youngest daughter spent some time there. I have thought of movi...

Primers have a lot of power. Mic McPherson can speak to that better than I, but here is a test you can run that I got from him... With sized, primed cases, seat a bullet normally in a cartrdige and crimp it in place. Take the other and fill the case with plastic or cardboard wads, seat the bullet so...

All good posts! I too have experienced the joy of too light charges of H110. It is weird when one goes off POP .. then roars like a rocket taking off JUST AFTER THE BULLET HAS LEFT THE BARREL!! Lots of noise and flame and no recoil. Weird weird weird pressure symptoms also. Thunder50 .. you'd have t...

The qustion raging today seems to be if she was an official security guard, or a member of the church that was permitted to come to services with a concealed weapon as an ad hoc security measure. I sorta agree with Old Ironsights ... not totally ... but sorta. I do agree with the author that wrote .. some are preaching about Jesus in hopes of causing more trouble and some preach from true motives .. but no matter what, I'm happy that Jesus is being talked about ... or words to that effect .....

The lady security who took the bad guy down was trained by a friend of mine. She is a former Law Enforcement Officer and a great woman. I call her a Hero. She hit him all 10 times. New Life is hardly a cult. Of course there are those who think that everyone who ain't in their group is a cult. Pointing out the previous leader's immoralitility does not mean that the group is wrong. Every religious sect in America has had its share of those whose sins were made public. Let him wh...

The 170 gr. jacketed bullet data can be used. I have run them a lot faster than 1700 with good results. If you are casting your own be sure they are fairly hard and that you have an excellent lube. Will casting with WW, lee lube, and lyman gas checks work? The wheelweights work just fine. That's wh...

Miller is correct. During our Safari in South Africa in June one of the members, Al DiPrima, used a Marlin in the new .308 Marlin to take some of the game. It worked quite well. On the DVD of the Safari he makes a heck of a shot between some trees to take a really nice Impala. http://www.leverguns.c...

Memorable Deer Hunt
Many years ago .. before we had kids .. Miss Twyla and I had been hunting all morning. We had hiked down into the canyons before sunrise, looking for Mule Deer. We had covered 4 or 5 miles, much of it up and down and it was beginning to get warm. While we had not seen any deer there was plenty of si...
