Re: Stoeger Uplander
I've got a friend who has a Stoeger Condor Outback in 12ga. Seemed well built and a lot of fun in a small package. Would have been better with ejectors as opposed to extractors. I really like double barrels but feel they really shine with ejectors.

When I moved from the central time zone to Indiana I really appreciated that we didn't participate in DST but that changed a couple years ago. There is a lot of grumbling across the interwebs about CTD's anything but cheap pricing. I haven't ordered anything from them in ages. I guess time will tell if they actually loose business because of this.

Re: Bolt rifle thoughts
You probably can't go wrong with any of the rifles mentioned and these choices typically come down to personal preferences. I recently decided to spend my year end bonus (which really wasn't very big) on a bolt action rifle in .308 Win. I'm really a big fan of the Savages and own a Model 10fp in .22...

boy y'all dont make it easy to decide lol. 22LR or .17 grrrrrrr Not an "either or" proposition, but you have to have a 22lr first, then get a 17 hmr. Although I do admit sometimes when I'm shooting my 17 I think "now why do I need a 22lr?". 22lr is just too cheap and too much fu...

Re: 17 HMR pros/cons
Let's remember, if we all stuck with what we "needed" the civilian firearms industry would have died out a long time ago. Think about it, a well made rifle should last several lifetimes and could be passed down from generation to generation. That being said, the 17hmr fills a niche and has...

I was briefly fascinated with the .300 Whisper/.300 AAC. The platform makes the most sense to me if used suppressed with subsonic loads. That would be a ton of fun but not MUST HAVE for me. If you're not going to pony up the extra coin and run it suppressed then other rounds make more sense. As far ...
