I have larger hands, so I normally operate the lever with the middle 2 fingers of my lever hand. My pinky rides outside the lever and slightly to the rear. Once I got used to it, I have come to prefer it. It's just an option for you to try. Try it with an UNLOADED gun mounted to your shoulder. Most ...

Gunsmithing question
:D Morning all, I am replacing a forearm band on a Marlin 336 and the new one seems awful tight. Anyway, my question is this......" How tight should the forearm and magazine tube bands be? " IE: hand tight, Sears wrench tight, loose as goose. Also, is there a special sequence to tightening...

I have the HiViz sights on three levers, 2 muzzleloaders and a slug gun. They are all green in color and stick out like a sore.....thumb. I don't get any flare out with them, static or on running targets. They are the best of the fiber optic sights in my opinion.

Love my Henry. I have the "T" model with the octagon barrel. One of the smoothest and most accurate rimfires I've ever shot out of the box.
My vote is Henry, take the $100 you save and buy ammo.

13.0 grains of Red Dot with a 150 grain bullet will get about 1400 fps in a 30-06...........so will 18.0 grains of Trail Boss powder.
I know you said 30-30 velocities, however these are economical and fun.

I just take an inventory once a year. Put it on a clip board with graph paper and update as I use them. Pull 50, of whatever, (ex:35 cal Seer FP 180's) note it on the clip board and re-order when I get below 1K. Very simple math, as I always load in batches of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
