Finally had a decent day for the range........
Well as the title said, We finally had enough good weather for me to make a range trip.
I took Ugly Duck (Winchester 94 in 30/30), my Marlin 1894P 44 mag, and my latest lever, a Henry H1000T 22LR octagon. I also took along a couple of Ruger SBH revolvers. The first thing was a warm up with the Henry. What a sweet little lever for the $$$. Clustered 50 Federal Champions into a 1.75" group @ 50 yards. Factory open sights. Very nice. Then came the Marlin. It did 2" @ the same 50 yards with a handload of 19 grains of 2400 and a cast 250 grain Keith. (10 shots). The revolvers were shot in between rounds with the levers. The surprise of the morning was Ugly Duck. That old Winchester can shoot.......the first pic is at 100 yards, sitting, slung up, with Federal 170's.
The next set I went at the 200 yard bull, sitting, no sling(couldn't get comfy at that angle uphill), same load.
The doggone thing shot really well UNSLUNG @ 200 yards.Better than 100. Go figure........
All in all a very good and eye opening day. Thanks for listening, Tom
P.S. Thanks to Mike (rjohns94) for selling me a REALLY good shooter in the form of "Ugly Duck" .

Thanks for the range report. Those 94s shoot way better than most poeple think they are capable of shooting.

Old Savage, I really don't know the exact finish. Mike quoted it as a "Military Teflon finish". That's all I know. Seems fairly tough and scratch resistant. The only portion to show any wear has been the loading gate and it hasn't been much. Thanks for the kind words to all, Tom
