375 winchester very versitle

I love shooting my 375 winchester model 94s.I have shot 200 gr speer bullets,220 gr hornady,235 gr speer my favorite 1st shoot bullet,270 gr hornady ,300 gr hornady fmj.I need to get some 255 gr barnes.I did shoot my lasty box of 250 gr factory loads.I wish these were sold for reloading.I have a ton of cast 260 gr bullets have not shot any yet.I want to try 260 gr accubonds and a few more.I load all of these with aa1680 powder which is awesome in the 375 winchester.The 220 gr hornadys turn into silver dollars at 2400fps.The 325 gr speers shot single shot have shot many 1" groups at 2300 fps.I think the 300 gr fmj bullets ran 1850 fps.They dropped a bunch but shot 2" groups at 50 yards.The Hornady 220s shot 3" groups at 100.The 270 gr hornadys shot 2" at 100 yards.I just like playing around with this caliber.It does not kick much and likes aa1680 powder for all the bullets I put in it.

The 375 Winchester looks like a small express rifle when loaded with the 300 gr fmj.It would be awesome to have about a 6 pound double rifle made with the 375 winchester.Its alot more powerful than its size shows.I shot side by side with a friend who was shooting a 7.62x39.The 375 winchester exploded the gallon water jugs and the so called huning loads hollow points in the 7.62x39 blew a whole about quater sized.I think the 375 winchester is awesome in the model 94.Its an easy round to reload and play with different loads.I want to try some of those shortened 270 gr hornady bullets like were shown on here before.

I have loved the .375 since it was first introduced. One of my favorite statements about this caliber was made in some gun rag many years ago. I am sorry to say I do not remember who wrote it. He said something like, "Since my .375 carbine pushes bullets of the same weight to the same velocity as the .375 JDJ, and the JDJ is a proven elephant cartridge, my .375 Winchester must be an elephant rifle."

Maybe it is a small express cartridge.

Yea it is funny that the same bullet/ velocity combo from a handgun can kill anything that walks but put it in a rifle and it's inadequate. Go figure.

I think the 375win is awesome cartridge just sean one for sale in good condition for $480 might go by it.

Hey handirifle you wouldn't be confusing 375 with 357 would you.
357 is a pistol calibre and 375 is kinda like a 38-55 on anna bollock steroids.

.375 Win. is chambered in the Thompson Center single shots I believe. It is considered quiet the hot number in those arms. 1886.

Yep. I have it in a 21" carbine configuration.

265 gr Mountain Molds GC over 19.0 (IIRC) of 2400 will DEFINATELY get your attention in a 5 lb rifle.

I've seen several lately in shootable condition but my main concern is whether you can mount a Lyman receiver sight those Big Bore Model 94s. There is a distinct shoulder there that's different that the standard 94.

Does anyone have a receiver sight on one of these rifles?

Williams FP 375 is the receiver sight for that gun. Just put one on mine. 1886.

Seems to me they shoot the larger bullets better. All I shoot in mine ( I have 4 if you count 38-55 )Is cast Ihave 2 375's an 2 38-55 One of my 375's is an odd ball it's ae half cock an a bull barrel the guy I got it from said he got it from a winchester employee who built it for himself. Don't know how true it is But I have the gun and it will shoot 1in allday long. And it's not for sale.

for the t/c guys they also built some "encore" barrels in 375 win

.I bought the first one I saw for sale.I just the win bb with a williams fp for the brush and the encore with a 4x scope for open fields.both like my cast 264 gr(280gr my alloy) lyman gc bullet sized .377.

Uh, nope, especially since a 94 BB resides in my safe. I was sayiny the 375JDJ is used in a pistol to kill elephant. JDJ claims to get 375 Win rifle velocities from a handgun.

I'm saying when those same velocities are in a rifle, all of a sudden they're inadequate for big game.

My 375 94BB is my favorite levergun, heck it is my favorite long arm. I do not have near the experience with it as some folks here. I bought mine almost 2 years ago completely based off of the advice from this site. I set mine up with the Williams Receiver Sight and a Sourdough front sight (I still have the sight hood on though). It has become my "goto" gun.

Yeh the .375 seems like its over looked.
i havnt shot deer sized game with mine yet, although ive taken it out but the shot wasnt presented.
i cant wait to use mine in this years fallow Rut an hopefully with my own handloads!

i rekon the BB is a bloody good thing.
