Did Winchester ever make a 9422 Trapper?

Post by Tycer »

Did Winchester ever make a 9422 Trapper?

What versions of the 9422 were made?

Are there any negatives to the 9422 compared to the Marlin 39 or Henry H001?
Kind regards,
Tycer

Yes they made a trapper, ask Nath.. :D and I'm thinking about converting mine to a trapper, it's old with no blueing and very well worn.

9422s could be had in several different styles and also in .22WMR & .17 HMR. too!

As for negatives against a Marlin 39 or a Henry H001, there are none I have ever discovered.

My 9422M has "stink trigger", and the 9422 has a better trigger, but a little heavy. All my Marlin .22 levers had good triggers. The 9422 platform has never, ever jammed. Marlins, not so....Overall, I'd give up my one remaining early 60s Mountie before either of my Winchesters....

Not only in a Trapper but also in a COLOR CASED receiver Trapper and standard. CDNN had them for as little as $450 or so and I didn't get one at the time. SHOULD have....

The 9422 Trapper is just about perfect for a .22 LR lever gun. This one was made in 2000.

Yes, in .22LR and .22WMR (.22 magnum) that I know of because I'm fortunate to own one of each. I don't know if there every was a Trapper model in .17HMR, which would have been a 9417.

Negatives to the Model 9422? Absolutely none! The actions are smooth as silk and they are very accurate.
