Old Win. Stopped By For A Visit

Post by Sixgun »

Jay (Old Win.) had nothing to do today so his wife, Kristy and himself jump in the Hemi powered truck from the center of Maine to come down to visit me here in S.E. Pa. (they did have business in the area :D )

Aaaaaannnndddd I might add, more gift From Far Away Lands.

Spent a great day BS 'en and hearing stories of the old days in Maine when men were men. Those loggers were usually burnt out by 35. Very enjoyable day....thanks Jay!----6

Look here...I caught Jay robbing me. :D

In addition to Maine made blueberry jam, beer, a monogrammed hat! Check this baby out. (Sitting on top of Pitchy's BAR man gift)

Woo! Just woke from a coma, I was wiped out. Gotta drive through a lotta crazy to get down here. :D

Kristy and I want to thank our friends, Jack and Janice, for their hospitality. They opened their beautiful home to a couple weary travelers. We had a great time, and would have liked to spend more, but my wife has a sick aunt down this way and it kinda upended our plans.
I was some glad I brought the truck, ole Six wanted to see how much it would haul by filling it with primo goodies.
When he started piling first generation Colts and pre-war Winchesters in I drew the line. I mean, I'd love to try and find a good home for that stuff, but I just ain't got time. :D

Serious though, Jack had my stuff all set aside, as promised. Gave me a deal that made me feel guilty.
Sorry we had to cut it shorter than we wanted, my friend. We will definitely be back down though.
Goes without saying, if you guys ever get up to Maine, our door is open any time. Our kind gotta stick together. :D

Thanks again, bud.

P.S.
I got to see and touch Pitchy's creation of Ole Six in steel.
The man is a master. It's easy to see Jack was touched by this gift. Beautiful work Pitchy. You did a good thing.

Griff,

Thank you for the invite, my friend! I would love to see the southwest someday. The country is so different from Maine. Hoping someday to get out there when I don't have to hurry. Like to take my jeep out there and just cruise all over the west.
I would have to hire you to come haul it out though. That's a long way to listen to those mudders howl! :D

P.S.
Our town is one of the largest maple syrup producers in the country. And, coincidentally, it's coming on that season. Funny you mentioned that!
We will send some, bud.
Jay

Griff. Jay could not make it in Texas. He would spontaneously combust. When he showed up at my place the temps were about 40, overcast, with a breeze and this guy had on a T shirt . While standing outside, he showed no discomfort and was telling me that the temps were 10 when he left his place. Pitchy was telling me the other night that it's nothing for the temps to be -20 in his neck of the woods. Then, Jay drinks his coffee black and Kristy only drinks water.

Now I know why those Northern climate people live so long.---------6

    I see those types in my travels... Amazing... Having grown up in SoCal where the temps average 70ºF and vary by ½º all year long... It's no wonder it's the home for all the fruits, nuts and flakes of the nation... It's full of those folks that do not have the fortitude to handle life in the rest of the country.

Good you all had a nice visit. Made the drive a couple of times from NJ to Maine. Driven around up there some, Orono, Bar Harbor, Camden, Milo, Dover-Foxcroft, Schoodic lake, up near Katadin, nice areas, nice people.

I don't know guys, seems to me you gotta be WAY tougher to take that heat.
You can always put on more clothes when it's cold.
When it's hot, you can only take off so much......and I don't do shorts. I'm a jeans only kinda guy.

OS,
Yeah, those are all nice places. There is some beautiful country, and a lot of its hidden away.

Headed home this morning. Spent the whole day in the hospital with my wife's aunt. Scares us how weak and feeble she was. While we were there, the family all met at her daughters and are building a complete living space for her. They are wonderful people.
We spent the night at her aunts house. My wife has many memories from visiting here when she was a kid. She is sad her aunt won't be here.
Nothing stays the same.......

I was bummed I didn't get back to Jack's yesterday. The guy is a hoot and the time flies when visiting. Promised I'd be back soon, though. We are shooting for May.
Be good to be back home, but I'm dreading the drive. Least the ole Dodge will be pointed north!

You got that right bro! I'm wiped out. Done some hard and fast driving with the ole Dodge. :D
Traffic wasn't too bad though.
I'm sure glad to be reunited with my guns though! :D
