I Can Hear The Cerebus Broom, Starting To Sweep @ Marlin

No more Marlin stock bullseye ?

That's just as bad a Sturm, Ruger & Co dropping Alex Sturm's name from everything before Ole Bill was even cold in his grave.

I wonder if that is the straight scoop or some gun shop backroom rumor?

Anyone have a link??

My gosh, what are all those owners of post-bullseye Marlin levers going to do for a location to drill for the rear sling swivel?

My new to me 1894 .44mag beats all: they took the bullseye out of the hole, moved it back an inch, THEN put the sling swivel screw thru the bullweye

Reckon this will increase the value of my old Marlin pump 12 ga? It has the bullseye and I put the sling swivel stud back of it.

...maybe, now, they'll just put an "X" where the bullseye used to be. :o

Buy your bullseyes now before they dry up and turn up on the auction sites as "rare, discontinued and hard to find!"

The newest 1894 (.44 mag) that has come into the local gun shop does not have the bulls eye and it is a walnut stock. It is my understanding that this has nothing to do with cost cutting. Supposedly, Marlin did not sell the rights to the bulls eye which is a trade mark.

I hear its a load of stuff. How can you sell the company & the rights to make all their products with all the other copyrights, trademarks & patents & hold out on a plastic doo dad? I'v heard from one source that Marlin had planned before selling out to discontinue it & from another that works there in production that he hasn't heard anything.
I guess time will tell.
