POLITICS -California to require microstamping of firing pins

Post by Gary »

This technology will be required in California starting in 2010.

Surely every criminal will comply with the law...

I do believe that firing pins are about to become NFA restricted parts.

California is currently running ads here in Florida trying to entice people to move there. The mass exudes from there must be digging deep into the state coffers. And they wonder why people are leaving and no one is moving in.

No worries; the technology is still years away. No rush to buy more guns unless you need an excuse to give to the wife for another purchase.
Nothing happening with that for a few years for sure. They are scratching their collective heads until their heads are bleeding; trying to figure out how to do it.
But it looks good on paper, to the fools to our state's legislature.

Maybe you ought to see if you can afford a firing pin right now, and get the rest of the gun later. . .

That seems strange, why do they think people would leave Florida for California? Snowbound states maybe, but Florida? Sounds like money wasted.

i agree with OI...more reason to stick with wheelguns. from what i recall reading about the legislation it pertains to semi-auto, self-loading handguns only. enforcement will be so simple it'll be incredible...if it's not microstamped, it will not be allowed to be transported/imported/sold/transferred within the borders of the state of california.

the technology IS available...it's just not reliable...studies have ascertained that beyond any doubt but that was ignored by the, mostly democratic, state legislature. the gov was reported to have commented "i hope they have it perfected by the time this comes into law". if the technology IS NOT perfected, no matter...if it's not micro-stamping capable, it will not be allowed to be imported or manfactured here.

sandpaper, grind or file it off; you'll be guilty of a firearms felony.

purchasuing a micro-stampoing capable firing pin will have to go thru an FFL and require the same process as purchasing a new firearm.

we need to get rid of california state legislators...

Hey who cares, as soon as they find out copper causes the whooping crane to loose their teeth you won't have anything to shoot from the guns anyway.
