OT - No work BUT been busy!
Things have been pretty slow work wise, but with finishing the projects on my home and my LONG sitting truck I've been busier than ever. I traded my labor for it in 2000. A deck and some siding. Put a million hours into it in 2000-2002 and then divorce and a new gal set it aside. Until about a month ago. My laborer and I have just about finished it.

Looks great! Puts my ol 54 to shame.
Love to hear about the Dodge Dakota front suspension. I Need to do somthing with the front end on mine, it is due for a going through! I bought it from my Dad when I turned 16 in 1975! He had it since 55, so it has been in the family all its life.

Man...very, very nice. I learned to drive at 12 (that'd be 1979) in an old 5-window '54 Chevy P'Up we used to have. I loved that truck. Always thought it was especially cool since it was the first year without a split windshield.
Does yours still have a working floor starter or dash throttle?

I love that truck! I remember when we all posted pics last year or the year before. Made me sad mine was sitting in pieces under the carport. Yours really set a fire in me. Industrial Chassis is where I got my crossmember. drop it in, weld it and bolt '87 - '95 Dodge Dakota front parts to it. Their website sux and the '47-54 is not listed. I sent them an email to ask why. http://industrialchassisinc.com/salvo wrote:Looks great! Puts my ol 54 to shame.

Re: OT - No work BUT been busy!
Dang, both of those look great!
Gotta get to work on my 1955 Dodge 1 ton flatbed, but that is scheduled for the spring.
Guess I've always been a Dodge guy, born in a 1956 Dodge on the way to the hospital.
(FYI late 55 & 56 Dodges are almost identical and picked up current truck (late 55 registered
as a 56) because of where I was born)

Re: OT - No work BUT been busy!
Tycer, I am sooooo jealous! I'm a Chevy guy, and I just love what you did there. My second pick would have been an old Dodge to put a repro Hemi into. I'm saving and planning on a new '09 Harley Dyna Street Bob in Dark Blue Denim no later than the Spring of next year (already started the savings account). Rode about everything Harley has, and liked this one the best (the Cross Bones came in a very close second, but has no ground clearance to speak of!). Anyhow, thanks for posting those great pics and statistics. I just loved it!

Great Stuff!
My Grandfather had a '54 forever. I never forget riding around the farm and in to town with him and his old dog Suzy in that old truck.

Tycer, Beautiful truck and great photos.
Re: OT - No work BUT been busy!
Wonderful pickups. I don't want nuthin with no carb (assuming that's what's in there), but I sure like looking at them old babies.

I'm not brand oriented and I love it. Gorgeous! I know you guys look good in that truck!
