Info on EMF Hartford rifle

Post by TX50Cal »

Local gunshop has a nice EMF Hartford model 92 with 20" octagon bbl, blued, in .38/.357, nice wood, looks unfired. I am trying to get my buddy that owns the shop to price it and let me know what I can get it for. Any opinions on this maker and the rifle in general would be appreciated. I have never owned a Rossi and would like opinions. Thanks,
Dave in TX
P.s. He also has a beautiful Winchester 92 that started life as a 38-40 and has since turned into a 44 Mag. Completely refinished wood and bluing. Octagon bbl. 24" Sleeved for the 44 round.

Good guns. The safety on the Rossi is an obnoxious tribute to our lawsuit-happy populace. Otherwise, it is good right out of the box, and great if you have NKJ slick up the action for you! :D

This one has no safety on it at all.

Yep, whatcha waitin for. Every EMF imported Rossi since June of 06 has had the safety. That gun has to be an earlier one. I sell the new guns with my $149.95 action work for $729.85. If you can get it for $550 or less you won't get hurt.

I have the exact same rifle except mine is stainless. I love it. It is probably my number one goto gun. It is loaded and ready for any intruder, coyote, bobcat, varmint, or just plinking fun.

I "FELL" into that same rifle, sorry the EMF, last year for a very good price. mine came with a lyman reciver sight, and is smooth as silk and very accurate. I would buy another in a heartbeat.
