What can I say? He's not sure about final score, but if he didn't make expert he came pretty close.

Cool. Man I remember those days like they were yesterday.

Broke the recruit record on pre-qual day shooting an M16A1. DI told me that he was gonna put a real hurting on me if I didn't break it the next day. It put the fear of God in me so bad that I couldn't concentrate on what I was doing and I was short the next day by two points. I still got a meritorious promotion out of it as our series high shooter. If he'd of just left me alone who knows, I might of broke it again.

I wish he makes his Expert ranking. But you need to post his pre-marine picture to show how he has come along. He does appear to be a proper proud Marine. Good Luck to him and you.

Good report on the young man......
At least one branch of the services still appreciate the true things in life. Straight shooting and all the things he will learn from the Corps will stay with him his whole life.... :)

I missed expert by "5" points in basic in 1958 and still know which shots I pulled. Real proud for your Marine and you.

My Platoon in Basic were all guys from Wyoming who were born shooting pronghorns at 400yds... me, notsomuch, but I was a Letterman/Team Capitan for the HS Small Bore Rifle Team.

We kinda blew the bell curve there... so nobody really got any extra brownie points.
