Christmas Eve Update ~ * * PROJECT SWORD * *

Post by Old No7 »

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all Forum Members!

It brings me great pleasure to announce that with all the deposits recently posted to PayPal, the checks which have been received by mail, as well as those which may still be in the mail...
. . . We have made it ! ! !

We will be able to buy the personalized UMSC NCO Sword for JReed -- AND make a decent donation to the Fisher House.

I checked the Fisher House website recently, and what they do for our veterans and their families is absolutely tremendous! I will post an update about that organization when the official news about the sword being on order is complete next week. That post will also include the HONOR ROLL of all those who donated.

A request to transfer the PayPal funds takes 3 to 4 business days, so due to the Holidays this week and next, I expect to be able to order Jeremy's sword on January 2nd or 3rd by the latest. The sword company is not doing laser-etching over the next week anyhow, so we really aren't losing any time.

I will post an update on the purchase next week.

At this time of year, as we gather with our friends and families to celebrate Christmas or the holiday of our choosing, let us take a moment to reflect on what we've done together. THANK YOU to all for your support of this effort -- it's been a great experience!

And finally... Let's all think about, say a prayer for, and thank the brave men and women who are serving our country for us, our children and for our future generations. Let us pray for Peace and Goodwill to all men & women, and a successful end to the hostilities which threaten our nation.

THANK YOU and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

And may God Bless Us, Everyone!

I sent my dad the link to these posts. Here is what he had to say.

You all wont believe this. Talk about a good group of folks.

Jeremy I am absolutely speechless... "a good group of folks" doesn't even come close to describing these fine people, God bless them one and all.

Love you,

Dad

December 26th * Update *

Post by Old No7 »

Greetings to all!

* As of 12/26, Private Messages have been sent to thank and acknowledge all the payments received by mail just before Christmas.

* E-mail replies were previously sent to all those who made PayPal payments.

* If you have sent a donation to PROJECT SWORD and not received an acknowledgment from me, please send me a PM right away.

As was noted on Christmas Eve, WE HAVE RAISED ENOUGH to buy the new/personalized USMC NCO Sword for JReed -- AND make a sizeable donation to the Fisher House ! ! !

Any other payments received will also be credited towards this project.

THANKS TO ALL for your generosity!

Hope your Christmas/Holiday was great ~ and Happy New Year too!

Thank you for putting this together Old No. 7. Once again, a good deed for a good man(even though he's not US Army, we'll still take care of him!  :) )

Good point Chris.

This likely wouldn't have happened without the coordination efforts of Old #7.
+1 on the "Thanks" #7!
