OT: Enough about MJ, this is more important news!!!
A tribute to our Americans in uniform, and a condemnation to the 'main stream' media that can't seem to find time to honor them!
Navy Petty Officer Mike Monsoor
PO2 (EOD2) (Explosive Ordnance Disposal)
Mike Monsoor, a Navy EOD Technician, was
awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor
posthumously for jumping on a grenade in Iraq,
giving his life to save his fellow Seals.
(Notice: Mike was not a Navy SEAL, he was EOD.
He gave his life to save a group of Navy SEALS.)
During Mike Monsoor's funeral in San Diego , as his coffin was being moved from the hearse to the grave site at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery, SEAL's were lined up on both sides of the pallbearers route forming a column of two's, with the coffin moving up the center. As Mike's coffin passed, each SEAL, having removed his
gold Trident from his uniform, slapped it down embedding the Trident in the wooden coffin.
The slaps were audible from across the cemetery; by the time the coffin arrived grave side, it looked as though it had a gold inlay from all the Tridents pinned to it.
This was a fitting send-off for a warrior hero.
This should be front-page news instead of the stuff we see every day. Since the media won't make this news,
I choose to make it news by forwarding it .
I am very proud of our military. If you are proud too, please pass this on. If not then rest assured that these fine men and women of our military will continue to serve and protect.
God Bless our Troops

What an amazing sacrifice!
"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13
He is in Heaven at this very moment!
God bless him and each who is willing to do the same.

Sadly, "Political Correctness" is the most powerful religion in America, and it has ruined our society.

It is truely sad that society will heap praises on a sick, little man on prime time TV, but ignore true heros.
God bless you, Mike!

Your sentiments about the media are spot-on. The fact that I had to hear this from you is further proof that our country is sliding down the crapper.

Another one i copied and pasted --- not to take anything away from Mr Monsoor. What Mr Monsoor did for his fellow sailors is BIG LEAGUE -- the biggest. Ed Freeman made it out but his recent death went by without a single headline
"Our government sux..... It's unfortunate that most Americans NEVER hear of the true acts of heroism preformed time and time again by our service men and women/ God bless Ed and those like him...
Ed Freeman
You're a 19 year old kid. You're critically wounded, and dying in the jungle in the Ia Drang Valley , 11-14-1965, LZ X-ray, Vietnam . Your infantry unit is out numbered 8-1, and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 or 200 yards away, that your own Infantry Commander has ordered the MediVac helicopters to stop coming in.
You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns, and you know you're not getting out. Your family is half way around the world, 12,000 miles away and you'll never see them again. As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day.
Then, over the machine gun noise, you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter, and you look up to see an un-armed Huey, but it doesn't seem real, because no Medi-Vac markings are on it.
Ed Freeman is coming for you. He's not Medi-Vac, so it's not his job, but he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire, after the Medi-Vacs were ordered not to come.
He's coming anyway.
And he drops it in, and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 2 or 3 of you on board.
Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire, to the doctors and nurses.
And, he kept coming back, 13 more times and took about 30 of you and your buddies out, who would never have gotten out.
Medal of Honor Recipient, Ed Freeman, died on Wednesday, March 25th, 2009 at the age of 80, in Boise, ID. May God rest his soul.
Medal of Honor Winner
Ed Freeman!
Since the Media didn't give him the coverage he deserves send this to every red blooded American you know.
THANKS AGAIN ED FOR WHAT YOU DID FOR OUR COUNTRY.
RIP "

Men like this command respect of the highest degree. Words seem inadequate.

Hero almost seems like an understatement for someone who gave everything. God bless him, and all our troops.

Thanks for starting this topic; may I suggest a "Heroes" sticky thread, for stories such as these? (minus MJ)
