Darned Kids sure burn up the ammo!
Finally got around to cleaning and sorting brass from the Indy shoot.
That silly kid went through 140 rounds of .35 Remington shooting
his Marlin! The little bugger is getting pretty good too. he pounded the snot
out of the 100 meter pig and got quite a few hits on the 200 meter Ram.
All off hand too!
Now I have to go reload all of that brass!
Darned Kids!

I'm getting old. Your son fired more out of that Marlin than I did out of all my center fires combined.
I wonder if that's why I can't hit anything?

I was feeling it too. I ran through about 100 rounds of 45-70.. By Sunday afternoon I
was looking for something that didn't kick so much. My shoulder was sore for three days!

Same here I still have a bruise from the steel but plate on the roller. My boys killed a federal 550 box of .22lr then shot a bunch of round balls out of the muzzle loaders. Must be nice to have that energy.2ndovc wrote:J Miller wrote:I'm getting old. Your son fired more out of that Marlin than I did out of all my center fires combined.

Next time I'm gonna bring less guns and shoot each more. Much more.
Spend less time unloading and digging out stuff and more time on the firing line.

That's what I've been trying to do recently. It's harder than it sounds...J Miller wrote:Next time I'm gonna bring less guns and shoot each more. Much more.

I'll take that kind of sore over being sore from yard work any day of the week!2ndovc wrote: I was feeling it too. I ran through about 100 rounds of 45-70.. By Sunday afternoon I was looking for something that didn't kick so much. My shoulder was sore for three days!

Re: Darned Kids sure burn up the ammo!
I burned 120 rds thru the SKS, 60 rds .38 spec, 50 rds .32 acp, and about 200 rds .22 lr..........plus 2 shots from OI's Howda. Made a lot of noise at least.
2ndovc.....you should have borrowed one of my .22's. Had three there to choose from, Marlin 39 Mountie, Ruger 10/22 Mannlicher, and Rem Nylon 66, no sore shoulder from them.

Re: Darned Kids sure burn up the ammo!
OK, slight thread hijacking here: I been counting my 303 Brit brass and I found a baggie with 39 once fired R-P cases. 39 is a odd number.
Does any 303 shooter or anybody else for that matter got one 1x fired R-P case I can mooch off ya????

You know it never stops.....Both my sons are grown and still think the only place to get ammo is from dad.
I have told them, stores sell this stuff..
