Bad range day

Post by HillbillyGadget »

I have a Marlin 30as scout set up, with a XS scout mount and a Leupold 2.5x scout scope.
shot 5 groups of 1.5" at 100m w/ rem 170gr corelocts.
All is good, shot the 160 gr leverevolutions group was 6" at 100m, not good
shot the 170s again at 200m 12" groups at 18"low and right
back to 100m, 6" groups with rem 170,150 and lr 160s

Pulled the scope, 6" groups

Anybody have any idea why my groups would go from 1.5" to 6" from a rest?

I would give that barrel a good scrubbing and then check all my sight mounts for a loose screw; then take it back to the range with only one brand of ammo, (REM CORELOKTS) and see how it does.

If that doesnt fix it I would schedule me an appt for my next EYE EXAM!

I'll give her a good scrubbing, shot the bad groups without scope as well.
Had my buddy shoot it from the rest as well, same result

Thanks for the replies.
