Allrighty, then. I have new wood, fore and aft, for my rossi mod 92. It is inletted, but not finished.

I have the linnspeed oil finish coming, but for the smoothing, what kind of suggestions for type and grits of sandpaper.

for more details, the little rifle is a 44 mag. I am going to have the barrel and mag tube shortened to 16 1/4".

I do believe that it might become my primary home defense weapon. 8 rounds, big bullets, moderate velocity, not scary to the media.
