Scrap Metal?

Post by Bridger »

Anybody besides me haul scrap metal? They are paying 6.00 a hundred in this area for white goods, so there is a little money to make in it.

Brother-in-law has been doing it for a living for quite a few years.
Last summer he was getting $300+ ton for #1.
He just sold 1000 ton last month. Wish I had his paycheck. :D
Made more in 3 days than I did the last 3 years.

I separate metals for junk pickers when I put out my weekly trash. Guy came by one night, asked if he could cut power cord of discarded tv. Apparently even that little bit of copper was worth the effort.

Glad to help these guys. Sure ain't no jobs for 'em hereabouts.

We do junk cars up here,
but it is more to clean up the community than to make a buck.

I do heating and air conditioning. Lots of scrap coils, #1 and #2 copper, electric motors etc.
Save it all up and work on sorting it when I have time. Use the proceeds to support my levergun addiction. :P

I work in refrigeration too, and had a bunch of stainless steel from display cases (1000 lbs). I made a nice $600 with it.
