I think it is an Iver Johnson but it could be any of a hundred brands.

my dad got his Winchester 67 for his 5th birthday (he was expected to put it to work). Of course by 6, he had 10 acres he plowed behind a mule.

Looks kike me and my best friend at age 6 with his father. We got 20 ga. Stevens for Christmas

That would be 1948 for us. I just had my 68th b'day In 1948 my friends father hunted with a much loved L.C. Smith Damascus brl. double. We got one box of shells for Christmas and had to account for each shell until we got more. It was the rare occasion to be allowed practice shots.
I shot a robin with my air rifle and had to eat it. Don't remember it upsetting me. We ate EVERYTHING we shot. I don't think we actually needed the game to live, but nothing was wasted.
