OT - Won a rimfire rifle on PM

Post by bsaride »

Well, I'm excited!

Never won anything of value before.

I bought 3 tickets on PredatorMasters for $25 to help out some kids.

I won a Savage 93R17FV 17 HMR rifle, a Foxpro Firestorm ecaller and a pair of custom mouth calls.
Value over $700.

Anyhow, I kinda live on this site and wanted to share.
Now I have to start varmint hunting.

I like the soda can trick where you set out a soda can full of water on top of a quarter then pop the can with a 17. The quarter is imprinted clearly on the bottom of the popped can.

Congratulations!
Kind regards,

Congrats, you're gonna love that .17 Savage. I've put together three different rifles and all will shoot .5" or under on a calm day @ 100yds. All of these seem to prefer the Hornady ammo BTW.

My brother and nephew have Savages in 17. I'm pretty sure you are going to like it. We were shooting them this weekend and both rifles were shooting under an inch at 100yards. I was suitably impressed. I'm thinking a 17 needs to join my stable in the near future.

Thanks all,

When it comes in I will need to mount a scope.

How do you guys like the idea of mounting my vintage Lyman target scope, 15x to it?

Congrats! That is a great win!

I would think that a 4x scope would be better for the intended use?

The 15x would be great for prairie dogs, but not so great for calling in predators... IMHO

OK, looks like the Weaver K4-C3 gets a home.

One of these days I will have to get a home for the Lyman.

I missed out on that one I haven't been on PM for awhile. As others suggest a 4X would be great for predators. If you want more get a variable like a 4-16X scope and call it good.

PM guys are saying 4-16 that is why I asked about the target scope

You want the lower power for coyotes. They will come in close before you know it and 15 power would be to much.
