Two are tied, IMO: Primo in Hawaii, and Milwalkie's Best are un-potable..... Crown in Korea is a bit skanky, but doable. Same in Panama, and other Central/South American countries...

There used to be some black and white lable'd generic that only said "beer" on the label that was pretty bad. But years of pub crawling while in the military taught me to drink two "good" beers, then after that, about anything would work, because the tastebuds were "buzzed".

Now, the worst beer I ever loved was pee warm Corona salvaged from a destroyed house, and consumed after ten consecutive 18 hour days of work in the heat and fetid aftermath of a Cat 5 hurricane. With no running water and the water carted in by the Navy from a ship stored in rubber bladders at 100 degrees, having run out of fresh clothes and none of us had found time to get to the sea to bathe in days, ANY beer was welcome. The 3 of us had two apiece, and just laid on a concrete sidewalk and slept.

There are many terrible beers in the World. I have been to many country's and drank many a beer.
Of all of the Worst beers out there, Sam Adams would be near the top.
Don't get me wrong it is a wonderful beer as far as taste goes. But the aftermath of a hard night drinking
would be boxers that are forever tainted with stench. The fanny burbs are bad enough to kill a charging rino.
Just my two cents. :D

Blatz?

There were some really bad ones available for low coin when I was going to college...

Our staple was Old Style - which we called "Dog Style" But it was really pretty good.

Personally, I've never understood what the big deal is about Corona. I'm not saying it's the worst beer, it's just bland and unremarkable, at least to me.

COLD BRAU ALE taste just like it was green beer, not aged at all, but it was cheap in college; 2.99 a case I think. Is ale beer? Whatever it was all we could afford for a while.

In Kona, Hawaii, several years back; A buddy here in California told me that if I hooked up with his bro's fishing boat on the Big Island, it would only cost me a twelve pack.
I showed up with Schaffer's Beer.

The boat left me behind....
"Haole brudda- you come back tomorrow an' bring some da kine beer, eh?
Then we go fish!

This statement could probably get me hurt in a place like this, but I think the worst I've tasted is Budweiser. I just don't get it. Love most all the majors and just about anything thrown me, but that one beer tastes all wrong to me. The Milwaukee's Beast that we used to drink in the Army had to be a close second.

I've tried swill that was generously called "beer" on 5 continents and that's the one I won't drink.

I think that there is too many to list. I was wiened on Old Style, so that's fine in my book. Howenstien was one of the worst I tasted. I'm sure they don't even make it any more. Not a fan of Linenkugel either. Their speciality beers are great , but the original stinks.

I was recently over visiting some folks. They offered me a beer. The wife said, "He's finally found a beer nobody else will drink especially women, no women will drink this stuff at all, but the beer is so nasty nobody will drink it". It was called B*tch Creek. She was right, it was nasty. I politely choked down nearly half of it before I did a strategic retreat leaving it on the counter.

Dang that was bad beer.

The wife thought it was pretty funny that I wouldn't drink it, and tried to leave it on the counter.

I used to LOVE San Miguel, I sought it out. Interesting taste and no headache.

I think the worst taste was one of the near-beers, the non-alcholic ones, maybe Clausthauler, I can't remember.

The worst alcoholic beer I had was some sort of flavored beer from a micro-brewery, it had some sort of fruit brewed in with it.

Hmm. I am somewhat of a beer snob. I like micro brews as well as many of the imports from Europe. It is hard to pin down what was the absolute worst beer I have imbibed but I will state that any domestic beer in a can is in that catagory. I will state there is one exception. A while back the two of us ate at the Horseshoe Pub where they have one of the largest selections of beers and ales on tap. I had some Oyster Stout. For some reason it turned my stomach. I will venture to say that was the worst beer.

IMO That title is shared with virtually all American Mass-Maket Beers.

For one thing Milwaukee ain't got a "best beer" it is all swill.

Of all American Mass Market Beers, only Michelob Amber Bock approaches drinkability, IMO.

Granted there are some small brewers such as Anchor, and Shiner who make some darned good beers.

In part my opinion comes from the fact that I don't like the light rice beers common to the major brewers, nor do I much care for the pilsners and laagers that make up the majority of American Mass Market Beers. I very much prefer the heavier, darker beers such as Stout, Porter, or Bock.

I once discussed this very subject with a rather knowledgeable group. The consensus of opinion was that American Brewers in general have gone for quantity over quality, and that their target market is not the beer afficinado but the ignorant youngsters sneaking a beer drunk before they are of legal age. Think about it, the mild, virtually tasteless light beers are more appealing to who don't know any better and who prefer to guzzle a case of Bud Light or Miller Lite than to sip a few pints of Guiness Stout or Anchor Steam Porter.

I guess you'll just have to call me a beer snob.

3.2 % Oklahoma beer is the absolute worst, which is what we had to drink in High School. We had to go across the river to buy because our Texas county was dry. We also drank the cheapest stuff we could get, quantity over quality.

Now I think any LIGHT beer is bad. Tastes bitter to me.

I am definitely not a beer snob (1 or 2 is my limit, then I'm too smashed to drink any more). A case will last me almost a year.
I really like Shiner Bock (my light beer) Shiner Black Lager, Moose Drool (brown ale), and occasionally a Guinness (draught, not in a can or bottle.) I've found as I get older I like the flavor of a good beer more than the alcoholic effect if it.

If we're eating out, I'll drink a Zeigenbock on draught, because it's usually the darkest beer they have.

I am not a fan of bitter/"hoppy" or "flavoured" beers.

What I drink, if given the opportunity, are Stouts, Bocks and Dunkels. Basically, if I can't see through it, I will probably like it.

Other than that, I generally keep a rack of whatever "light" domestic is cheapest around the house to drink. It's better for you than Sugar Pop anyway...

Taste like someone took a qt. of warm Keystone Light beer "gone bad" and dumped in a 1/2qt. of cheap Walmart brand Maple Syrup and mixed it up in a big dirty jug that was once used to collect the dogs do do.
It's 20 proof and if you drink a couple of those babies as I did you might just be sitting/hugging the pot for the next two days!

Coming from a long line of Braumeister's, my Great-grandfather (my Dad's mom's father) was actually recruited as a Master Brewer from Germany and coupled with the fact most of my relatives deceased and/or living have made it their life's quest to sample ALL beers in copious amounts I will stand by the fact that any Pilsner not brewed to the German Purity Law, is feces. That said, Budweiser is the worst....
C. Cash wrote:This statement could probably get me hurt in a place like this, but I think the worst I've tasted is Budweiser. I just don't get it. Which I agree with from my, kindaofasewer tastes, er...I mean connoisseur palate.

This is completely bogus, as all Milwaukee breweries followed the German Purity Laws and they never used rice or alternative grains in their Pilsners'.

You can tell Doc does not have the palate of the northern European stock and has been "southern" fried with false information as to what is and is not a good Pilsner. That being said, Ale, Stout, Porter, and Bock are not really pure BEER but derivatives based on similar brewing techniques. To be honest my tastes actually run more to the wheat Ale, Stout, and then the Bock types also...but they are not considered a Pilsner nor Lager beer. I am just astronded by this comment "like the light rice beers common to the major brewers" as only one major United States brewery uses rice! Prior to prohibition all the Milwaukee breweries made beer the old German way that would yield at least a 5.5% alcohol content, generally the better ones of the time like Pabst, Blatz, Miller(Jacob Best), and Schiltz did not release their products until after full fermentation so the beer was substantially different then. After prohibition and caps were placed on alcohol content some Milwaukee breweries tried to have the fermentation process complete after sale and once the container was opened. Hence the reputation of PBR causing massive "hang-overs" as the beer would ferment in your gut over night and the full affect of the alcohol would come hours after that last bottle of that 12 pack you drank was long gone.

Prosit!

Second only to Budweiser.

I was sitting in a bar in Amsterdam tasting yet another fine Belgian beer when some

The wife and I really like the Dundee brand beer(especially the India Pale Ale and Pale Bock)6.5% ABV , but actually all of their stuff tastes very good to us.(except their old Honey Brown Lager thats just ok)
They sell a 4 flavor variety 12pk that is superb here for like $13 Good Stuff

Both so bad it'll curl your toenails
I'll agree about the Fosters, but I kinda like Lonestar for what it is. It's better than Coors light, but that's not saying much.

The worst beer I've ever had, I can't remember the name of. It was some kind of Pecan Porter. It was so bitter I could hardly swallow. Only got through about half a glass. I am an amateur beer snob, I guess. I prefer darker, heavier beers. The Pecan Porter was the first Porter I ever tried. If they all taste like that, I'll stick with Shiner, thank you very much.

I like Blue Moon every once in a while, but I really enjoy their summer brew, Honeymoon. It's not the best, but it's pretty good.
