Research Poll: How is your .45 Colt firearm stamped?

Post by J Miller »

OK, This thread is simple a research poll.
I want to find out for my own curiosity how various .45 Colt caliber firearms are stamped. Any and all, factory or custom. Handgun, Lever Gun, Single Shot, American, Foreign, Old and New.
Lets keep the .45 Colt vs Long Colt discussion out of this thread, we still have one of those going.
Like Joe Friday on Dragnet said: "Just the facts mam, just the facts".

OK, I'll start. Now, try to duplicate the stamping as close as you can and try to date your guns as well. Don't need serial numbers but model numbers and variations will be great.
Those with multiple examples of the same brand, say Colts, put them in chronological order so we can see if there is or was any change in the caliber stamping.

A: Ruger Blackhawk, 1971: ".45 CALIBER"
B: Iver Johnson's, Uberti Cattleman, 1975: "CATTLEMAN - .45"
C: S&W 25-5, 1982, 45 COLT CTG.
D: Winchester 94AE Trapper, 1985: "CAL. 45 COLT"
E: Marlin Model 1894CB, 2005: "CAL. 45 COLT"

This should be informative, thanks.

Joe

Guys, I specifically asked that we keep the long Colt out of here.
Also I did not ask for brass or die markings, only those on the guns.
I'm serious about this, so please keep it to guns only.

Thanks,

Joe
