What TV cowboys used?
What did the TV cowboys use? I was on the Great Western site, about 32 or 33 of us are members - actually I see I am # 36, and I read that a number of the shows used Great Westerns, Cheyenne for instance, due to the lack of other guns around.

Great site Danny.
Re: What TV cowboys used?
Guns of the Gunfighters by Doc O'Meara goes into this in detail and covers most of the TV and Movie Western heros. One of the best was Annie Oakley (Gail Davis) who carried a Colt Poliice Positive with an ejector rod, because she couldn't get her hands around a SAA. The book not only describes the guns and where they came from but has wonderful pictures of the stars and their guns.

So “The Hand Of God” was indeed a Colt and not a USFA.
