I like people who don't try to hide what they think or know. I don't get upset with Terry because I see it as him teaching me. How many of you can say you had a teacher whom you respected because he or she told it to you straight up?

I don't get upset with ANYONE unless they try to initiate force against another individual (that's pretty much the definition of being a "Libertarian", for those who don't know).piller wrote:I don't get upset with Terry because I see it as him teaching me.
Being blunt, being unapologetic for one's expertise, or even just plain being an obnoxious individual like many I've dealt with over the years, doesn't bother me in the least. Terry seems to me to be blunt and unapologetic for his expertise, but never obnoxious, although perhaps the "internet environment" makes it hard to discern the subtleties of tone and inflection and sarcasm and so on, so it's easy to get 'offended' by stuff not meant offensively.
If we could trade off 99% of the invertebrates-without-gonads we have for our "leaders" these days, and replace them with "TERRY's" who were really having a bad day and at their most cantankerous, I'd do it in a second.
Yeah, the "newbies" were sometimes jumped upon more fiercely than I'd do, but I've got the impression that had the conversation happened in the local gun shop, the twinkle in the eye and the tone of voice would have made all realize that a gentle "challenge" to get the newbie to THINK was all that was happening, and not some evil attack.
Besides, even the "newbies" should have been around the block enough to not have such thin skin that the first harsh comment gets them to wet themself...
We need more TERRY's in the world.

He's probably shoveling snow. Still, I'll throw my hat in the ring...
Dear Terry, can I load a 400 grain bullet over the same load I use a 350 grain bullet in my .450 Alaskan? Won't it just go slower unless I stuff more powder in?

This is one thread that has Me totally bewildered. Makes no sense at all, well until Rimfire, which brought My question to Mind.
I was given a Bunch of old Ammo. Of the ones that I don't have a Gun for, I pulled the Bullets and dumped the Powder. Some of it looks a little different than others. Anyhow I just dumped them in One pan. My question is - if I mix it real good , Can I use it to Reload some Ammo that I do have a Gun for ?

The best way to do that is use many different kinds of powders....that way it will average out better. Just fill the case up with it, mixing it like that really takes away it's power.pwl44m wrote:This is one thread that has Me totally bewildered. From what i can determine, the most important thing is not to mix powders that have different numbers. for example; W748 and W760, no problem; H4895 and W748, no problem. Now 2400 and H110, only an idiot would do that.

Re: We Need A Fix, TERRY
I think this thread is pathetic. Several members here worked real hard to chase Terry off, now others are trying to bait him to post again. If that isn't bad enough they are discussing very dangerous loading practices that can and most probably would cause damage and injury if a newbie that wasn't aware of what's going on was to read this and do it.
Give it up guys, if Terry wants' to post he will. Otherwise, if you want to see his posts check out The Ruger Forum, and no doubt others.

I hope I've never treated him with anything other than respect, and that he is doing well. It doesn't matter to me if he answers back or not, but it's always good to see that he and many here are doing well. I would think for most of us here, it is brotherly concern rather than baiting. The rest of it I don't have time to worry about.

Not sure. I hit a bottle of Laphroaig 18 year pretty hard during a Super Bowl party and nobody would stand within 10 feet of me. Of course, it could have been the Hoppe's No.9 that I had spilled on the leg of my jeans earlier in the day as well. They may have been worried that I was going to combust.AJMD429 wrote:Wouldn't you have to use a Tennessee Bourban for that...?Rimfire McNutjob wrote:Good to hear.
