OT-I'm now the newest member of the workforce

Post by shooter »

Finally found a job. Maybe not an ideal job, but income nonetheless. I will be selling cars at Rockwall Dodge in Rockwall, TX. Like I said, not ideal, but it's the only bite I've had in close to 6 months.

Congratulations! I had to survive on consulting work for seven months last year...it was pretty darn right scary, my worse year since '82. Then found three jobs within three months, now I just hope to keep this one until I retire as it is the first one in over ten years that actually has good benefits (German company, they aren't afraid to offer benefits), reasonable compensation. In fact, I am just finishing up a APEC (Applied Power Electrical Conference) gig in Fort Worth...getting my reports out from the Worthington Renaissance Motel.

Hey, at least it's work. We all have to do something; never know, you might have a real talent for selling cars. Good luck, glad that you are employed.

If you're serious, come on down and I'll see what I can do! Or you can do just about everything but test drive online these days. Just ask for Jonathan Purkey.

Maybe we should do a Leverguns lunch at Joe Willy's?

Nice, i've been there a few times. Just never give up. Each job, whether ideal or not, leads into contacts for the next oppurtunity. Better to keep working while u continue your job search. Good LUCK !

I'm up for it! Haven't had Joe Willy's in ages.

Maybe not "ideal," but at least you're working and deserve a "thank you" along with the congrsatulations. I have done a number of less than ideal jobs myself and expect I may well do it again.

Congratulations!

I was in the same boat, I was fired from a job that I had held for 11 yrs, Im not 1 to get screwed and say thank you! I got tired of having to do others peoples jobs, because they were to lazy or unable to do it, I was a maintenance man at a private university, after yrs of getting crapped on and having to do jobs, that were passed onto me, I finally had enough, and started going over my supervisors head, and the heat came down on him, well he finally figured a way to get me out of there, and he got me fired, 5 months later I have a new job < started last sunday > and make $3 dollars more a hr then what I was making at the old job after being there for 11 yrs,
never give up, theres a silver lining in every cloud . and as for the old job,.. Im just letting my lawyer take care of them,
