OT: Salvation Army For Japanese Quake Relief

Post by Blaine »

Salvation Army is my personal choice to donate to relief. They forward 100% of the funds you give.
You can Text "Japan" or "Quake" to 80888 for a 10$$ donation, or go to their website for other options, if you so desire. It looks like Japan is done for :(

I give a big PLUS to the Salvation Army. I have worked at and been in command of some pretty massive and long relief (Law Enforcement) efforts at many disasters in Florida. They always show up early, do what they say they will and they stay. They also do not shy away from going into the bad areas. They are the only relief group that will ever see any of my money.

Forever and ever AMEN on the Salvation. There is another relief agency that will remain nameless that was always hated by my father. This other agency was selling coffee and donuts to his unit when they were waiting to board the troop transport in WWII. At the other end of the dock was the Salvation Army GIVING away the same stuff.

Amen again for the Salvation Army.....my dad hated the other "agency".....he was shot down by the Germans during WWII and was finally sent to the hospital I believe around Tampa. He said the -------- would come by with cigarettes to hand out. The packs were stamped "Donated by the citizens of ..........." after several months in the hospital he was presented with a "bill" from the -------- for the smokes.....till the day he died he would give generously to the Salvation Army....

What "other agency"...?
Doctors for Sensible Gun Laws
"first do no harm" - gun control LAWS lead to far more deaths than 'easy access' ever could.

Our church is having a second collection this weekend for relief efforts in Japan. Work has also put together a matching donation program. Just hope the bad news stops here shortly...

Thanks Blaine!
