I finally got out with my rebarreled Marlin1895 in 45-70 to the range.
Everything I loaded shot great, but one load was amazing.
405g Cast Performance (.459) over IMR4198 produced this with iron sights at 50 yds. I hade many three shot groups under 2.5"
I think I found my load........

Thanks! With these 58 year old, vision corrected eyes.....I'm surprised I can see the target!
I bet with a scope this rifle would be a real tack driver.............

That Limb Saver is definantly functional but man that gun would be so pretty with a crescent buttplate..even with a sore shoulder i'd love it to death!!

+1 I'm lucky where the crescent buttplate is concerned. I'm a little dude and the crescent fits me BETTER
