Someone on here probably has one and has had the same thing happen and will answer before long. . .

. . . but in the meantime, what's "Lone Eagle" ? Maybe someone with a similar firearm could give some insight.

AJMD429,

The Lone Eagle is a pistol, like this one:

...with a rotating, "cannon" breech. It is made by Magnum Research.

Holy cow I fixed it, the screw I tighten was a set screw and there was a screw under it that I had to back out just a hair and put the set screw back. It was driving me nuts not knowing how these things are put together. Just ordered a manual off of gun broker hope it tells me a little more about the working of this gun. If anyone has any detailed instructions on dis assembly I sure would like to here them. Thanks Dan

I always thought those were so cool! Not so much interested in the he-man rifle calibers but man were they cool!

Why chase your tail all over the internet looking for information? Call Magnum Research, they made the thing.

It seems people always forget the manufacturer when they need something when it should be the first place they call.

 Why Joe, they prefer to read your charming responses, instead...!

Anyway, I'm glad they post here - I learn new stuff - like what the heck a "Lone Eagle" is.

The only info I got from MR is to send it in and they would look at it. I went the other way and have learned a lot. I now have detailed instructions on all the working if anyone else needs them. I love sites like this so we can all learn and share. Thanks to all.

dandee,

I am glad to hear that you are getting it all sorted out. :D

Since we all are learning, COMPETITOR CORPORATION also manufactures a similar pistol:

That "rotating cannon breech" is very interesting to me. :!:

Hagler, thanks for that link. You are gonna cost me money! The prices aren't bad for what it is and there's just about any caliber you can think of there.

I own a couple of Lone Eagle's ...there are several different generations from SSP86 up to when Magnum Research made them then stopped. Mostly the differences are in the case ejection system.
I also own a Competitor... simular in looks but completely different, way better trigger.

Just getting into the single shot handgun thing I have been shooting big single action revolvers for awhile now. Looking at picking up another lone eagle soon, going to try to do some adjusting on the extractor this weekend know that I have some instructions. Really enjoying the challenge of using a handgun over a rifle.
