Who makes a .32=20 today?

Post by Rusty »

Looking over the different sites it can be confusing. Anybody know what's current?

If you're talking about the GUN, I don't know, but I have always wished H&R (or NEF) would make the Handi-Rifle in it.

Now that I have a Rossi, I am wishing THEY would make one.

COLT SAA's ARE AVAILABLE IN 32-20 IN ALL THREE STANDARD BARREL LENGTHS. SO ARE CIMARRONS, AND PROBABLY ANYONE ELSE HANDLING THE UBERTI LINEUP OF SA SIXGUNS.

Love my Uberti 73 in .32-20. I think they are still making it.
Mine is a couple years old now.

I shoot a Lyman PB bullet 311008 (IIRC) sized to .314 over 8 gr.
2400. Sweet and very accurate. Just like shooting a .22 mag.

I assume we're talking leverguns here.

CDNN Sports is advertising Winchester Model 92 deluxe takedown rifles in .32-20 at $999.99. These are the tang safety version produced as a limited run. I don't have one, but the ones I've seen are quality pieces.

I do have a Uberti-made Cimarron 1873 deluxe rifle in .32-20 that is a great shooter. I use it for Cowboy Lever Action Silhouette shooting. I can recommend them as well made and accurate.

I can't help you with the new one but I just bought a CL model Marlin and couldn't be happier. If I was in the market for another 32-20 I'd buy another CL in a heartbeat.

These aren't current, but I see them for sale every now and again on the internet gun sale sites. The Browning 53. Beautiful little rifle and most have excellent wood.

US Firearms also offers the 32-20 in their SA Revolver. I have one of theirs in 45 Colt and quality is top notch.

A Handi would be perfect, but I can't see that happening. I do like that M53 Kim. Maybe I should set my sites on one of those. Thanks.

Does H&R chamber their Handi rifle in anything that could be reamed to .32wcf?

No not really, the best way to do it is to what they call "stub" a barrel. They take another barrel, usually a shotgun barrel and cut it off just in front of the chamber. Then they cut threads inside the stub and thread the outside of the barrel. Screw it all together and finish the fine points.
