OT- Update on my wife RR7.

Post by rangerider7 »

We got the port put in for her chemo Monday. She also had some irritation from some inside stitches so he open up that small area again. I'm back to square one on the twice a day packing wet to dry job. I told Doc thanks a lot, about the time I get her healed up you go and open it again. She's in good spirits and she starts chemo Tuesday. Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers. As I have said before this is a great forum. Much gratitude. RR7 :)

We will continue to keep her in our thoughts and prayers. I am now on my 5th month of chemo. It works.

Thanks guys and mike she did not take chemo the first time so this will be a new experience for her. My dad took chemo but he was in bad shape when they gave it to him and he didn't make it. This type should not be as bad but I have heard everybody is different when it comes to chemo. We will take it a day at a time. Thanks again. RR7

RR7, the type of chemo used has a lot to do with how sick the person feels. There are a few medicines to help with the nausea, and some work better for one person or another. The particular chemo medicines used are dependant on the cancer type and location. There is a whole field of medicine devoted to that.

Prayers up for healing and for wisdom for the Doctor to choose the correct mix of medicines.

Prayers continuing. Keep your spirits up... ain't any easier on you than it is on her... you just have to bear up under her discomfort... 'leastways that's what one of my best friends told me when his wife had to go thru it.

RR7, prayers up for you and Mrs. RR7. piller is correct, there are different chemo mixes for different situations. My chemo doc told me that since my treatments were mostly precautionary, that the chemo should not be as nasty as some. He was correct. It was not pleasant, but nothing like some of stories I have heard.
I recently had my port removed and was told I am good to go. Praise the Lord for this!
Wishing you both the best, and both of you will be in my prayers.

RR7, glad to hear she's in good spirits. That helps alot. As said, you keep your spirits up. It's not easy watching someone go through that and knowing there's really nothing you can do to ease the journey. Prayers continue.

Here is one more prayer for both of you. God likes to here from us, he knows what we need but still likes for us to come to Him and ask.
