Cool, it`s a neat sport and fun to make the darts and Atlatls but it`s hard to get accurate with them. At least that`s what i`ve found so far but my darts arn`t uniform to each other and i think that throws them off.
Must of been interesting facing large game with one.

The state of Missouri has had an atlatl hunting season for deer for the past 2 yrs. Apparently, no deer were killed during the first season (according to a study I read), but 2 (1 buck & 1 doe) were killed during the most recent season. I have no link to the report, but I suspect that checking with the Missouri DNR link would be a way to find it if you're interested.
One hunter reported taking something like 25 "shots" at deer during the season and hitting none. He concluded that he probably need more practice and should get closer to the deer before "shooting". Seem like reasonable conclusions.
