Packin Up Again . . .

Post by COSteve »

My wife and I are getting ready to hit the road again next Tuesday so I'll be absent from the site until late February. This time our travels take us to a new continent, Africa. We're flying to Dakar, Senegal and then taking a 114ft motor yacht, the Pegasus, up the Gambia river for a nice leisurely 12 day cruise. We thought it would be a different introduction to the African continent, our 6th so far. In truth, I'm not sure that we'll make the last one, Antarctica because it's so . . . . . . . white. This is the first of at least 5 trips to Africa we're planning.

This May we're off to Spain, Portugal, and over to Morocco. We're planning a couple of photo safari trips to the game preserves both in South Africa area and in the Kenya / Tanzania area during the next couple of years too. Of course, we also plan to tour Egypt, however, we're not going until the political climate cools down a bit. No firearms along, I'll just be 'hunting' with my Nikon. It should be quite a temp change. It's cold here with snow forecast for tonight and Tuesday night while Dakar is going to be in the mid to upper 70's and a bit up the Gambia, we'll be cooking in low 90's.

Sounds like a wonderful adventure - doubly so since you can take your spouse along!

Steve,
I've never been to that area of Africa, but if you enjoy wildlife viewing, different cultures, and interesting items on the menu the trip should serve you well. We'll look forward to a photo recap of the trip on your return. :)
