We've discussed the Chiappa 1886 scheduled to be released. Here's a video: http://www.americanrifleman.org/videos/ ... iak-rifle/

I will have to actually SEE one first as the last thing I got from good old Charlie was junk and the replacment was junk and neither he nor his boss even knew what junk was. Now CDNN is selling all their old guns as is at about 1/2 price.

Traditional version looks real nice. Wonder how the QC is compared to Winchesters?

I want to see one, handle one, shoot one, before I say much more..

AND I WANT THEM TO KILL THAT HUGE, UGLY, OBNOXIOUS BILLBOARD ON THE SIDE OF THE RECEIVER.. That just tells me their Company hasn't quite grown up yet...
Regards

Buck

That's a great point.... hate the billboard, and none of the pictures show it. I wonder if it's on the traditional one also? Probably a 100$ option to get one before they press it in.

I'd like to think they will make a good rifle but when I hear the name Chiappa I get visions of not very good quality products. Are I correct or just prejudice?

As to billboards....look at Ruger barrels (others come to mind as well). It seems if you run out of ammo, you can always read 'em.

Is it just me, or does Mark Keefe look like a young version of Vichy LaPierre?

But the Nickle version does look good (excepting the receiver imprint...)

Oh gosh! And here I was going to say... I LIKE the print! But, only as far as it seems to fit the stated market for the gun. As a traditionalist, wanting a more traditional finish and furniture, I'd HATE to be saddled with that logo. I want to see, handle and inspect one a lot closer before I'd step up with my money.
