Way cool! The parachutes surprised me, I assumed they let them sink. Apparently they reuse the boosters.
The early U.S. space program captivated me in my youth. I remember getting up before daybreak to watch the Mercury launches on TV when I was in elementary school (one of the things Walter Cronkite did best) and can remember exactly where I was when I watched Neal Armstrong walk on the moon. Even today it still amazes me we were able to do all of that in such a short amount of time. Nothing we have done since comes even close to the significance of the early space program. It was, and remains in the truest sense of the word, AWESOME!
