Leupold RX-1000 TBR Rangefinder story

Post by 86er »

Apparently I dropped my rangefinder 18 feet from my tree stand where it spent the day in the rain. I figured it out when I jumped down the last 5 feet and landed on it. Frustrated, I shoved it in a pocket and made my way out of the dark. A few hours later while removing my clothes from the drier where they spent 40 minutes on high heat I found the rangefinder again. I forgot about it in that pocket. I pressed a button and .... Nothing. Curious, I put in a new CR2 battery and tried again. Works perfect, didn't even lose the settings! This product is rated water resistant but does not state if it is shock proof or if it is drier proof or drier resistant. Great product! Exceeding my expectations!

I like the part about landing on it . . .

Sounds like one tough device...!

Thanks for the product report Joe. I definitely seem to favor Leupold products when it comes to optics.

You found it while taking it out of the dryer?

Does that mean it went through the washer too?

That would make a good commercial.

Dang Joe, when you test something you really go all out. Kinda like those 2 guys on G&A TV.

Thanks for the endorsement. I've been planning to replace my (presumed stolen) rangefinder so will definitely consider the Leupold.

Joe,

You're a product torture tester by accident. Keep it up and keep writing about it.

You might end up as this generations Elmer Keith.
