Weird Things At The Front Door

Post by Sixgun »

Guys,
I don't like this. Pulled in just a few minutes ago and this is what I saw at the front door. A half dozen buzzards just watched as I drove past and into the garage. They were congregating too close for my comfort. I went inside and grabbed the camera and snapped a few. The cats were not even disturbed.

There was nothing dead there, not even cat food.

I keep telling everyone that something bad is gonna happen in this country and I hope its not a bad omen.--------Sixgun

We used to call my dad "the old buzzard". After he AND my mom had passed the wife and I were discussing whether to buy the home place or not as we drove out to the place to do maintenance. I said I wished the old buzzard would tell me if it was ok. We went up the drive and a big "old buzzard" was perched on the peak of the roof just looking at us.
Sincerely,

Hobie

Makes you wonder doesn't it !

Kinda like it makes me wonder why buzzards don't roost over that white house on Pennsylvania Avenue in DC where that PAIR of loud mouthed buzzards live for the moment atleast !

Oh man, you guys got my knees quivering. I'm a superstitious "old buzzard", (come on Victor, I'm only 58!! :D ) and I've never seen this in the last 38 years of living here.

I might have an answer. My good friend "The Gunny" just told me over the phone, "Hey Jack, you remember the other night I was there and there were all them slimey slugs all over the walkway?" We have been invaded by these nasty slugs that are about 3-5 inches long and we have probably stomped a few so maybe those buzzards are eating them up.

Oh Lordy, your right Pitchy, I need a "buzz". Where's that Jack Daniels........or Wild Turkey? :D ---Sixgun

No worries Sixgun.....those are just Italian chickens.   Here are two stories that freaked me and my wife out. Notice, they are about one year, give or take a month or two, apart. Whether they are related to your "chicken's" I don't know.

Got up last Saturday to these turkeys on my lawn. What do you suppose that means?.......

It seems that the vulture population is on the rise. Read Ezekiel 39:17-20,it will take a lot of them to get the job done.

'Ya know 6 point, I believe its all what you think of yourself. I hear Italian jokes all the time and I truly laugh at them just as much as any other kind of joke. I know who I am and what I think of myself and not much bothers me.......just don't make fun of my family and I'm sure most regular guys feel the same way.

How come time goes so fast in Italy?????????.

Everybody who's ancestors are from Europe that has a long skinny nose is part Italian. :)

It's not called a "Romanesque" nose for nothing.

Indiginous populations had short noses before the Romans came.

Everyone but WASPs were discriminated against when they tried to mainstream into society. All succeeded, including most Asians, except one, poor, downtrodden group that The Man still has his boot on top of....but, that's ok, because they have Jesse, Al, the ACLU, and the Democrats looking out for their best interests

We had a large population of buzzards in N.M. this year, however I do not attribute it to any particular " otherworldly " experience.
It is a response to the annual elk hunt.

For those who don't know, WOP goes back to immigrants arriving at Ellis Island With Out Papers.

And "Kike" was short for the Yiddish "Kikel", or circle. Jewish immigrants would not sign with an X, feeling it was somehow related to the Christian Cross, so they signed with a circle instead.

Everybody gets singled out at one time or another. In the 30's, my folks were known as dirty "Okies," "Arkies" and "Texies" when they immigrated to California. They were next to subhuman to many and treated as such. The Grapes of Wrath was an accurate book. But you can't hold good people down, no matter what you call them or where they come from. At the same time, it's ridiculous to be so PC that you can't laugh at yourself.

Sixgun,

If you are so worries about those buzzards, grab your 10/22 and go to town on 'em. I've seen a lot of turkey buzzards around here this year. A nice head shot with a .22 rifle seems to take care of them pretty well. I'm sure it will take care of yours too.

I was 3 seconds from grabbing my "yard shotgun", a 20 ga Stevens and thinking of a strategy when a lightbulb lit up. Around here, unless you have a licence and a tag for it, better not shoot it or you could lose your rig, gun etc....It's SSS if you really have something that needs killin'.
