Let's hope it rendered him sterile so he can't reproduce more like himself.

That guy is a spazz.

His flailing around totally ruined any opportunity for effective data collection concerning vertical ballistic performance using humans as projectiles.

I'd reckon he's got about a 240 caliber butt.

What powder and how much was used?

They are a blast. When replacing an airbag, we are required to discharge them before shipping back to the manufacturer. When I worked for Nissan, they had a recall on certain ones. I accumulated several, and wired 6 of them together to set of at once. Well, it made quite an impression! The owner came running from across the street, and the cops showed up a couple minutes later!

They will also ruin your day if you are trying to extricate a victim from a crash and it goes off while you are all contorted trying to get a C-Collar/KED on them...

Frontal Airbag deployment takes approximately 30-55 milliseconds. It takes 100 milliseconds, or 1/10 of a second, to blink an eye.

I have seen a couple of people with friction burns on their faces from the airbag. It is so hot and moving so fast it causes a burn much like a burn from a flame. The customers were getting silver sulfadiazene for the burns and Hydrocodone/acetaminophen for the pain. The person in the video is using something that appears to be plywoood to protect him from the airbag.

piller - Thanks for straightening that out. The video clip is so fast that I thought at least some of that smoke might be coming from his butt !

For once, I might just agree with FW. All of the guy's flailing ruined any chances of gathering accurate ballistic data. Doubt his buddy measured him for ballistic coefficient or sectional density.

Which brings us to the old Monty Python question: "What's the air velocity of an unladen swallow ?" "Well, African or European ?"

DB - the flailing simulates yaw which is why you can never get an accurate BC on a bullet.
