The ex wife

Post by Rusty »

Tim decided to tie the knot with his long time girlfriend.

One evening, after the honeymoon, he was assembling some loads for an upcoming hunt.

His wife was standing there at the bench watching him. After along period of silence she finally speaks.

Honey, I've been thinking, now that we are married I think it's time you quit hunting, shooting, hand loading, and fishing. Maybe you should sell your guns and boat.

Tim gets this horrified look on his face.

She says, "Darling, what's wrong?"

”There for a minute you were sounding like my ex-wife.”

"Ex wife!", she screams, "I didn't know you were married before!"

”I wasn't “

Yea, they all get like that. Takes a while breaking 'em in. Took me 40 years and its still a job.

On that same note, my b-i-l, who married my wife's sister was like that. In 1960, the first year they were married, she stood in front of the door as my b-i-l was headed for his truck to go to the mountains for deer season and said "Its either me or your buddies". He pushed her to the side and went on his merry way and spent a week upstate. He told me she never bothered him again about that.

And...here's the rest of the story......Bob actually went back in the house, and the wife went and put on a sexy negligé, and said "Do whatever you want..." So he packed up his gear and joined the boys....

My ex wasn't quite that bad, close, but not quite.

My current lady bought me 3 guns in 2012. One for my birthday, one for Fathers's Day, and one for Christmas. I told her at Christmas that if this keeps up, we're going to need another safe!

My Green-eyed Monster knows & approves - heck, she even has a copy of my firearms inventory, with SN's & values (which I keep current in case I suddenly roll a seven).

She sometimes teases (?) me that she oughta pop me, so she can sell all my guns and live large......

Fiance and I's first date was to the range.

Helps when we're both veterans, she understands me.

My g/f is on-board pretty well. Her strongest complaint about firearms is that some are 'ugly'.

Seems like y'all got some wonderful and understanding gals, but frankly, a girlfriend or a fiance is not a wife.

Those of you who've shed a 1st or 2nd know that.

What guns?

Oh those... they're (fill in blank), I sold them to him last week. He just doesn't have room for them yet.

After 40 years my wife knows that I'm sensitive to her needs, listen to her thoughts, treat her like a queen, . . . . . . and buy whatever firearms I want. In truth I think she's happy with my hobby because it gets me out of the house and out from under foot sometimes.

Seriously, we agree that we each are entitled to hobbies and time with our friends so when we're together, we're both happy to share each others company.

And at 65 and after 40 years marriage to the same woman, how many guys can still say that they still get some . . . . . . . . . 'sharing' regularly. :o

PillHer likes to hunt almost as much as I do. Her favorite gun is her Marlin 336C she had fitted to her. The stock is now too short for me, but she shoots it very well. 3.4 to 1 inch groups at 50 yards from the standing position. She also likes her 20 gauge semi auto, her .243, her 30-06, and her .22lr. Her SKS is fun for her, but she doesn't shoot it much anymore.
