Ranch Dog Boollitts. Where to get em??

Post by 1886 »

Are these available for sale? I like the look of his .357 Mag. and .38-55 projectiles. Thanks in advance. 1886.

He was a mould maker but as I understand it he has stopped making moulds to Focus on his family. The only caster that I know of that does Ranch Dog stuff is Carolina Cast Bullets. I got some 265 Gr. in .432 diameter a while back. Seemed like great folks to work with.

Ranch Dog was a mould designer who contracted with Lee Precision to produce limited production runs of his designs which he then retailed on-line.

You could try these guys:
http://www.carolinacastbullets.com/Ranc ... doors.html
They do cast a few of Ranch Dog molds. Planning on trying a few out in different calibers, prices look reasonable too.

Looks like everything has been covered. Jerry has just about every mold design I offered, let me know if you have any questions.

I have a 45 Rossi 92 that needs larger bullet .454+ - he seems to make minimum size on most of his bullets.

My TLC454-290-RF was designed to drop at .454" so it would be tough for him to drop them any larger.

Is your Rossi a pre-Braztech rifle?

I've have purchased three rifles of late manufacture; a R92 45 Colt (2011), the R92 454 Casull (2012), and a CJ4510 (2011) and they all have a groove diameter of .450". I can also throw in the Taurus 450, as it has the same .450 diameter. None of my rifles will chamber a .454" bullet because of case bulge.

Yes mine is pre Braztech 10" groups with the smaller bullets at 50 yds. .453" brings it under 2". At the same time B92 44 Mag with Win factory shot 5/8". Have some larger bullets to try but haven't gotten back to reloading since car accident last summer. Cases show very minimal bulge even with the loads I described.
