What a sight this was today! Mirage??

Post by geobru »

Bimart had a grand opening of their new store in Aberdeen today. This morning it was a fully stocked store.
They even had 22 lr!
525 round boxes for $18.79
042513 22 ammo 2.JPG
1400 round bucket for $54.97
042513 22 ammo 1.JPG
They had pistol ammo, rifle ammo including the EBR ammo in 200 round boxes!
CCI and Winchester primers for ~$36.70, Varget and H4895 for ~$22.50.
The clerk said that they had everything set aside for this grand opening, but all the other stores had empty shelves.

It has been so long since I have seen anything like this that I had to get a pic or two just to remind me of better times.

I'll bet that was gone an hour or two.

Is that .22 ammo the same stuff whether packaged 525/1400? If so, it'd be cheaper to buy it in 525 boxes.

Why do people asssume if packaged in greater quantity, it will be cheaper? Guess I'm just cheap and can do simple division. :)

Very good - a gun shop here - Sante Fe Guns is trying to get $150 a brick.

Nice picture, but then I remind myself I don't even like to shoot that bulk pack stuff. I do get it for the kids to blow through from time to time.

Glad to see some stocks on the shelf, and at less than .04 cents per round. So much for the ammo companies raping everybody for a profit conspiracy theory.

There was a long established place in Cheyenne that pulled that stuff during the first Clinton scare. They never did recover from their longtime customers seeing their true colors, and I think the place has traded ownership several times since then, and last I knew was only open sporadically.

These pictures were taken at 6:30 PM after being sold all day long. At 2:00 in the afternoon, all of the shelves were filled with the buckets. I went back today out of curiosity to see if they had any left. They didn't. I spoke with a clerk who said they started with two pallets of the buckets, each pallet was about 5 feet high. I don't know how many of the boxes they had, but they were gone as of noon today.

I did the math too. The catch is that there was a limit of two boxes/ containers per person, so at today's prices, the buckets were a bargain, just to get some ammo.

That is what needed to happen to that place.

Last time I bought a brick of 22s they were $9.99. I guess it's been a while. At least I have a comfortable reserve.

For the time being, my stash has turned into a vital supply, and I hesitate to touch most of it.... I still need to sight in a few rifles. I wish I had known about that sale...It was only hop, skip, and a jump, and I would have got a couple buckets for trading material....I really don't care for the Remington rimfire stuff. I do have full confidence in the Federal BulkPac stuff....
