Model 1873

Post by tsillik »

I was given this winchester model 1873 from a family member, guess it belonge to my greatgrandfather from Texas, I got the winchester letter, it was ordered with a single set trigger and a 30 inch. oct. barrel which it still has, and is in completely original condition, I will try to post a couple of pics. Rare bird with the 30" barrel. I've seen a few s.o. 26" and 28", but most 30" guns are in the collections of advanced Winchester lunatics. Whats the first 3 numbers (serial#) as something tells me your gun is an early second model.....highly desirable . :D ----------------6

Hi and welcome.
Looks like a single set trigger there.
Does the mag tube have two barrel bands???
That looks like a beautiful old 1873 with a couple of special order features.
You are a lucky man to have that rifle.
NOW, we need to know what calibre and we NEED a range report with LOTS of photo's.

The seriel no. is 192066B, has only one mag. band out by the front sight, looks to be dovetailed into the bottom of the barrel. I know the pics. are not that great, but would anybody have any guess as to value? But it is not going anywhere! Are 30 inch barrels really that rare on these? Terry

After you cock the hammer you push the trigger forward till it clicks then you have a real light trigger pull. :D also a couple more pics.

Welcome! Your rifle is a treasure for sure. Cool if you have a secure place to display it.

my book says it was made in 1884, with the special orders the gun has I have no Idea
what its worth, you could go to Gun Broker & look at 73s there, some times
they have them with SO, id say 30inch is rare

oh its a third model gun
