Learn something new every day. I am so glad you posted the link. It would be fun to have the coordinates to ones that are on public land.

Some enterprising hang glider pilot could make the trip and write a very entertaining account...

that's fine if you were going east to west, but what if you wanted to go in the other direction?

yeah, they skipped the part about the army of bureau-Crats that had to spin the arrows around between flights, all coordinated by the yellow light workers union. what has become the united states postal service... another history mystery solved ...

If I recall it was in the mid 1980s when a helicopter pilot flew a Robinson R22 along the oregon trail - much of which is still visible.

The early Air Mail and Contract Air Mail days are very interesting to be sure.
