PRICE CHECK - Marlin 1895

Post by Jason_W »

After much consideration, I've decided to sell my 1895 in 45/70. With the exception of some ligt scratches on the stock, it's in like new condition. I'm asking $425 and I cover the shipping.

I always have a tough time pricing stuff. I want to price it to move, but at the same time, I don't want to cut my own throat.

If you're in a hurry, that is a very good price.....If you want to wait it out, you could do better. Me? I'd start and 5 and work down if necessary....Who knows?

At least I know I'm not expecting too much.

That would be considered a very good price for an essentially new 1895. You should get that asking price no problem.

I guess I assumed it was a new version with the checkered stocks and pistol grip. If it is otherwise, it would be worth more in almost new condition.

Yeah it is the newer model with the chackering and pistol grip. I don't have the sight hood or the factory rear sight as they were absent when I bought it. But I have a peep rear and millet post front on it which I hope sweetens the deal.

I could tell it was virtually unfired when I bought it, and I've put fewer than 100 rounds through it myself.

Ask $500 shipped and be willing to go a little less. You can always negotiate down to a good price but can very seldom negotiate a buyer up in price.

Winchester never chambered the 95 in 45-70. .405 Winchester which was TR's favorite gun. He took several to Africa and killed lots of big dangerous game with the piece.

$150, you include shipping :D -----All kidding aside, at 4 c-notes it will move fast. Take it to any show and ask 4.5. Even though it is like new, people are willing to spend another hundred or two and buy it NIB.----------Sixgun
