Awesome old Lever Gun Picture......

Post by Rube Burrows »

Don't know that its been posted here before but I found this the other day and WOW. Not only is the picture cool and it has a lever gun......but would you look at the size of that Grasshopper.

I have seen some the size of my palm but it sure would be cool to have some big enough to shoot with my lever gun.

I don't know how authentic the photo is because I have seen the same photo with the writing at the bottom saying it was shot in a different state.......even a different country. Still a pretty neat photo though.

Jackalopes may not seem like much when its just one or two of 'em. But when there a a dozen or more in a pack and all riled up......you need to watch out.

Here in central FL we get HUGE grasshoppers every year. I killed one a few days ago that was at least 5 inches long. My cat will walk outside with me and he is good at finding them for me. He stands over them til I get there and squash them :-) I have often wondered if they would make good bait for largemouth bass?

That fella ain't near stout enough to pick up a hopper that size with one hand.

I dunno, if all the ichor drained out of them .30-30 holes, it'd probably be pretty light

I call BS because I've seen "Lonesome Dove" and when Gus died there were snow-capped mountains in the background. So there.

Hoppers that size were still around when I was a kid here in Texas. We used them for trot line bait to catch the really big cat fish. Sadly hoppers that size and the cat fish that ate them were taxed out of existence by the Democrat party. If doesn't take anything more than a good 22 HP to kill the runty little hoppers we have now.
