Two strikes this morning.

Post by Nath »

A sheep farmer called about some fox's so this morning under dark I krept to an old stand and waited for light.
Five fox's I was watching from 25yds to 300yds!
I had an oppurtunity for a shotgun but there was not enough light for the 357 so had to wait.
In good light and 30mins apart two came in. 50yds and 25yds.
Good old 94 in 357 :)

It was a privledge to watch these fox's doing fox things not knowing I was there.

Sometimes I wonder if it is worthwhile gnawing through the leather straps to get up in the morning..................

That was good shooting. You left out some of the details, however, most of us on here have hunted enough to assume that one of the shots was on a running fox. After the first shot, most of them don't hang around to find out who is shooting and why. Your posts are always enjoyable.

No running shots today, I did however have to stop the close one with a quiet cough!

Love was in the air.....makes most of us dumb! Also there is alot of driven shoots around here, guns going off all week, they kinder get use to it.

Maybe, if you'da waited until the reynard was in flagrante delicto with the vixen, you'da only needed a single shot. ;) .

Good shooting Nath. Always enjoy your posts. Does that 94 have a 20" or 24" barrel and what bullet and load were you shooting?

It appears that you feed your foxes very well over there.
