Post by Pitchy »

First five rounds with my XDS after getting it back.
Seems to work fine.

We're letting you get away with that abbreviated range report on account of how cold it is up yonder. But we're expecting a full write-up come spring thaw! :P :P

Glad it's working for ya! :D

 I tell ya pards I love this little pistol, the thing just does everything right.
More coming soon, Al Gore came by so now it`s supposed to be around 30 by the weekend.
But I reckon Biden will have to show up and tell me all I need is a shotgun  and that all the shootings are because Phil Robertson is advocating buying semi auto shotguns.
Well I`m sure glad I`m a ornery old coot and threw them all of my property.

I sure like my XDs. After the two month wait, I really couldn't tell the difference in trigger pull, once it was broke in again. The reset seemed to be a little more pronounced though.

There is a little different feel here and there but heck it isn`t a target pistol as some seem to think on the XD board
I just seem to feel real comfortable with it, it draws and re-holsters nice, the sights are good, recoil is light and accurate and carries nice. :D

Now if ya could get it to clean and reload that brass as fast as it empties it.........
It looks like it spreads that brass around quite a bit. A custom match auto loader should have them all in a nice little pile so you don`t have to hunt for them.

Pitchy, I guess you will never see that brass again, well, maybe springtime.

Nice group for offhand shooting in sub zero weather. 10 yards ?------6

That's good, I like a pronounced reset. One of the things that I don't like about some of the smaller pistols is that you cannot feel where the reset is, so you have to release the trigger fully. Also some have a click that you feel before the reset, and I catch myself squeezing again before the reset.

Congrats Pitchy on getting your XDs back. I am hearing form quite a few people that they can not tell much difference in the modification which is a good thing. I too look forward to a more extended range report when the weather pulls in it's claws and fangs.

Chuck, it must be the design, short barrel maybe but they all seem to throw the cases everywhere.
6- I didn`t pace it off but about ten yards I reckon.
Looks like global warming is coming Friday, if so will set up some targets and a rest and see what it will do.
Thanks :)

I've had mine back since around the end of November. I couldn't tell the difference, in the trigger, at all. It is a whole lot more controllable with the 7 round mag though. I have a pocket holster and a Kydex OWB holster that fits tight against the body.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

Took a few more shots with her at ten yards off a rest which I`m no good att, just as soon draw and shoot.
For a short barreled defense gun I`m plenty happy with it, really like it in fact.

I've tied to come up with every thing I could to keep track of my .45acp brass, Considered drilling holes through brass and attaching lanyard, (won't feed) duck tapeing a minnow net around wrist and gun, ( not really practical, especially if you have to use the restroom) and even removing the screens from all the windows and just shooting tagets from inside of house. ( loud and scares dogs and family members) I guess I'll have to start shooting my sixguns more. Anyway I'm glad you got your little shooter back, should be great trail gun.
