How about a new S&W .44?

I really liked the idea at first. An "L" frame .44. Then I got to the part about the two piece barrel.

I looked a few time and saw nothing about this.....Did you really mean two piece barrel? Never heard of such a thing, but, I'm willing to learn.

Rusty, why would they build the gun with a 2 piece barrel? Seems like a cheap turn in quality to me. My Taurus .44 spl has a heavy ONE piece barrel and not the extra bulk of being chambered in .44mag.

First L-Frame in .44 Magnum®
• Full Top Strap and Barrel Serration
• Ball-Detent Lock-Up
• 2-Piece Barrel

Is it a light-weight alloy with steel insert in the barrel? The specs are incomplete on the website. Hmmm

Jeff Quinn said he shot one and it uses an outer sleeve over a tensioned thinner barrel. Steel barrel and steel liner.
I like my new-to-me 325 since it's so handy with the .45 acp moon clips, but if I didn't have it, one of these new 69s would be great.

If the barrel was set up like the Dan Wesson, to be user-changeable , I would be mildly interested.
As a fixed barrel gun, I would take the extra 4 oz of a standard N frame, every time.

I'd like a 5" barreled L frame 41 magnum more.

Unless it was a dedicated 44 Special, I fail to see the point ---- N frames with 6 shots are readily available in 2.5, 4 , and 6" barrel lengths for the guys that like to go big-------
------ SW needs a bit of compact 44 Special love so I don't have to buy another Taurus ever again

I read they were all allocated already. I guess enough people wanted the reduced width.
On a similar note, I like my 6-shot Night Guard I just acquired just fine (since it weighs 10 oz less)

I have a nice old 'triple-lock' S&W, but seriously, when it comes to a practical 44 Special for CCW or other general duty, why not just get one of these...

People,

Here's another vote for CHARTER ARMS revolvers. In fact, I will, once again, post the link to one of Mic McPherson's article about some of his family's Bulldog revolvers:
