POLITICS - Do you ever get tired of fighting it all?

I just read the post about the administration of a Minnesota high school that is barring a true hero from addressing and speaking to our ever confused young people. After reading it I thought about all of the stupidity and crack-pot ideas that a number of people have pushed forward.

Maybe there is something wrong with me but I am tired of fighting all of this, so to speak. I tire of having to explain what should be common sense to many people on politics, gun control, personal freedom,etc. Do any of you feel that way?

Seams to me common sense is very uncommon! And it seams to me its getting worse every year !

Nobody said life would be easy. Some things are plain just worth fighting for.
If you quit you will not have the right to complain about it later. Just my $.02 worth.

I've been there for a long time. I never did have a great sense of humor and these days what's left is pretty ragged.

Every time ignorance speaks, especially concerning our rights as free Americans, I feel the need to speak up, go head to head. Like at a ball-toss, or a kick-off. It's just wrong to let them get away with it, and I'm always ready for a fight.

I've had to take a chill pill myself. It would take no time at all to use up your life and resources on the simplest of things if you have no patience.

I will take a rare shot now and then but I'm definitely out of the trenches as it is simply a waste of effort.

Whether I did or not use myself up in the attempt, this country's on the greased rail to socialism and getting myself steamrollered would do nothing but grease it some more.

Lives, fortunes, and sacred honor be darned- they're ready for it this time.

ETA THAT darned CUSS-ERADICATOR IS peeing ME OFF.

One way or another, life is a continuous struggle; we have the luxury that our struggle is more 'mental' and political vs. the fear of roving gangs of thieves and King's plunderers, or even wild animals humans centuries ago had to deal with.

That's why I still fight. I try not to obsess, but I will not become complacent or apathetic, for my children's sake.

You just have to learn to 'enjoy the breeze' in between times the bad times...

I do tire, but press on. What keeps me going are several things:

(1) I love my country and the principles it stands for,
(2) I love my children and want them to be free
(3) I honor my ancestors who fought and died to keep this country free;
(4) Whenever I think I have it hard, I think of those far from home defending our country today.

The left wants to wear us down, and will never stop. We must remain ever vigilant...

I plan on dropping out so to speak in the next couple of years and will be living in the Mountains of Eastern Oregon for good. All my neighbors are conservative Gun Owners, so I feel right at home...My neighbor has a fully Auto Thompson and a fully Auto AK47....has to have a special permit to own them though.

Anyway, we discuss the issue around my campfire, and will never give up fighting for our rights as Americans...My Dad and I were discussing these same issues 40 years ago....Best we can do is hang tuff and do our best to pass on our Values to the next generation...as my Father did.

Unfortunately, fighting evil and fighting stupidity are both continual struggles. This may be part of God's plan, since the world is an imperfect place.

i grow weary of the fight on too many occasions...but...i realize that if we give in, they (the anti-gun crowds) will bulldoze us without hesitation.

part of the problem as i see it is that we gunowners have become too complacent.

we need to actively seek the unseating of the particularly overtly anti-gun legislators with a zest that makes their toes curl! why spare them? they don't wish to spare us!

let them know that we'll do our level best to see that they are fired if they pass anti-gun laws!

it can be started by encouraging dealers not to sell ammo, supplies, service, training etc to law enforcement agencies of the state/county/city that passes such legislation. ron barrett does it!

i know it might hurt some dealers but what the heck...the very laws that they pass damage & destroy gun dealers every day, too...and it's called "it's the law. even though it forces hardships on many, it's the law"

not only that, if they defeat the second amendment...which will they attack next? the first? third? and rest assured...they will.

I would second all these comments. When good men stop speaking and fighting for what's right, that's usually about the time that they start building camps to get rid of all the "Undesireables".

(hint: to a large portion of this country, we are out of date undesireables, as are several other groups which cannot speak or stand up for themselves). The price may be a lonely life, or oppression, or even worse. But it's worth it.

Sometimes I wish that folks would listen to reason. And then I find that they do - but that it takes more than one conversation to get a point across. We often do not realize what planting little seeds can do. A case in point, a young man my wife and I have been working with for a few years was WAY down in the hole, so to speak, back in December. He finally opened up to us to where we could work more actively than with just an occasional comment or conversation. His life has turned around dramatically since then. And he's commented, "I'm finally starting to understand some of what you've told me over the years." In other words, he heard the words - but didn't comprehend the significance of what was said - until the time was ripe.

Yes, sometimes I get fed up with people. That's when I need to get away and recharge my batteries. And when I get back I'm rarin' to go again.

So don't give up. Be patient. Changing minds rarely happens overnight. But it's worth the effort.

It just breaks my heart.

Most of peoples morals get passed down by a parent, mentor, or even senior
citizen saying "you shouldn't do that, it's not proper".

We are riding the politically correct train straight to HEdoublehockeysticks.

Worrying about being branded "intollerant" has put a muzzle on society.

I remember what it took to make 72 teenage boys act as one single minded
unit that was capable of ANYTHING they put there minds to on Parris Island.

But that is socialism in it's finest hour and the only proper atmosphere for
it to work, military life. They need to count on each other. It is voluntary and
temporary, with the freedom of American life waiting at the end of their
service.

Having lived that life as a leather neck and noticing how my country has
changed during my life time I can only come to one conclusion.

We are being legislated in a socialistic society. Period.

When a society becomes socialist (the state controlling the people) all it takes
is a couple crack pots to be in charge and all heck will break loose.

Remember the Japanese internment camps? Good one FDR, ya bum.

Our people bear arms, they can fend for themselves. They were meant to.

Yet a college student is forced to undergo psychiatric evaluation for saying
he has a constitutional right to bear arms for self protection.

Tell me that road goes someplace good.

FWiedner posted one of my FAVORITE ALL TIME QUOTES and it reminded
me that if you practice it you can be marked as paranoid and hateful.

What I am sick of is all of the so called Americans who don't want to know what the price of freedom is. They would sooner give all our rights away and then be the first to cry foul when someone is doing them some harm because they no longer have any way to protect themselves.
War is not a fun vacation place and no it doesn't teach you how to love your fellow man. It teaches you how to kill, maim and hurt other people who want to see you dead and your country in ruins. If your enemies are not afraid of what you do to them if they come to visit you will either be dead or a prisoner in what was your country.

I get very tried of politics and politicians, to the point of extreme cynicism. BUT.... I won't withdraw and not vote. As far down on the food chain as I am, my vote is the only voice I had in the direction of my country. Too much blood was shed for my right to vote, for me to consider it worthless.

I get tired of the rhetoric, PC stuff, politics, etc... and posted about it a few days back. So I go on the defensive side of my mindset and prepare for the worst. But no I won't ever give up. My childrens futures are too valuable for me to do that.

When it comes to fighting for FREEDOM in my own country, I reckon I have FOUGHT and LOST more battles than a lot of you guys. But I will never give up fighting the bigoted politician's and their freedom grabbing laws as long as there's breath in my body!!

It makes me smile to read the words of so many American Patriots. I agree, the day we get too tired to stand up for our rights is the day we begin to lose them forever.

Just remember, it is not enough to just speak up against gun control. Stand up for every right in the Constitution. We must not slack, we must not rest, we must'nt give in or giveup. Never give a @#$#$@% inch!

+1 You are exactly correct. I do tire and get frustrated though. Especially when there are 80 to 90 million gun owners in this country and in the 2004 presidential election, I think the total numbers of voters was around that same number. We are not doing our part. When we relax we will be steam rolled
